The Tannery

This page will keep you up to date with activities at The Tannery, and all the good reasons to visit Mudgee some time soon.

Mudgee’s most stylish and comfortable self-catered bed & breakfast accommodation
In 1858 a saddler by trade, James Dixon Little was operating the Australian Tannery at the rear of this site and it is believed that the present cottage was built by Little in the late 1850's as accommodation for workers at the tannery.
The cottage, though now renovated, has retained much of its natural charm. Catering for one or two couples, there is a comfortable lounge with open fire, two bedrooms with luxurious linen, comfortable beds (one queen and one double), a superbly finished bathroom with enormous claw foot bath, fabulous dining room and large industrial stainless steel kitchen, with second fireplace, all complimenting the simple style of the early Victorian era.
Enjoy the enclosed garden with covered verandah to sit and read the papers, sip a cup of tea or coffee, before strolling down the quiet Lawson Street to the town centre, the local markets, one of the many cafes, Roths Wine Bar, or the nearby Oriental Hotel. Country living in the heart of town - the best of both worlds.
With off street parking, TV/DVD/CD – the Tannery is a getaway with modern and historic charm to please all of your senses. Just a short drive to the wineries to taste some of Mudgee's best at the friendly cellar doors and then off to one of the great eateries - bliss!
Rates include bountiful continental breakfast provisions and exclusive use of this beautiful luxury historic home.

Mudgee's finest self-cater accomodation - in the centre of town.
